This is the website for the International Academy of Poets & Writers, a society for all poets and poetrylovers around the globe.

This site has been designed for the enjoyment and the advancement of the common poet. At the same time we display poems written by the main geniuses spread throughout litterary history. Acknowledging the beauty of the varied formal styles that they expoused. We do encourage poets to be either formal or informal in their approach, favouring neither. We are promoting the desire to express, feelings, thoughts and ideas that will impact upon the reader.

The word Academy, which is in our name, we define as a society for the advancement of live, vibrant and engaging poetry, by the people and for the people.

We believe that the world needs to be changed for the better. People who like and understand poetry are instrumental in accomplishing this. Dreams must be dreamed before they can come true. We live in a world that has varying degrees of intolerance. Poetry is one of the bridges that can cross this gulf. Giving a voice to those who are supressed and to those who see and oppose the opressors. Poetrys limitless boundaries hopes to express ideas and educate people to become aware of the world they live in. Helping us to see where we would like our world to course.

Poetry furnishes inspiration and creates ideas and attitudes which improves our state of mind, our state of being, our relationships and ultimately our utilization of resources and friendly coexistence of all people.

That is a dream. A dream dreamed by poets and writers that you will encounter on this site.
